AwakenHub Turns 5
Thousands of founders. Countless moments. One powerful movement. Permanently Shifting the Dial.
Five years ago, AwakenHub was sparked by a bold idea: that women founders across the island of Ireland and beyond deserve far more than what the eco-system and society has traditionally offered. More visibility. More support. More opportunity to launch, build and scale exciting and impactful companies. More access to investment. More opportunity to invest.
What began as a few Zoom calls during lockdown in June 2020 has grown into a full-force movement. Today, AwakenHub is a vibrant community of founders, funders, ambassadors, partners and allies lifting one another up, pulling no punches, tackling challenges and building businesses that matter.
Five years in, that mission has become ever more important and we count our blessings that the community show up for each other everyday. This isn’t just our fifth birthday. It’s half a decade of changing the landscape for women by women. It’s a movement. A rallying call to reflect on the incredible journey so far and raise a collective High 5 to the exciting road ahead.
2020 - AwakenHub was born from a shared commitment to fundamentally shift the dial for women founders:
2021 - AwakenClub & SheGenerate were launched:
2023 – We went Stateside for our 1st (of three to date) USA Trade Missions:
2024 - The magic of being ‘stuck’ on an island off an island for SheVentures; launched SheScales and AwakenAngels:
2025 – Officially a movement collectively changing the founder and investor eco-system. And only getting started:

🚀 A Community That Builds More Than Startups
AwakenHub was built by women, for women with the unwavering support of allies who reject the status quo walk the walk alongside us. Together, we’ve created Ireland’s first all-island community for women founders and launched the only women-led angel investment syndicate on the island.
Because equity shouldn’t be the exception. Investing shouldn’t feel out of reach. And success shouldn’t depend on who’s in the room but on the strength of the founders, their companies, ideas and capacity to deliver.

For everyone of our County Ambassadors weaving meaningful local connections across Munster, Leinster, Connaught and Ulster. For our diaspora trailblazers in the UK and the USA who prove that impact knows no borders.
It’s also for our Big Sisters—the gamechangers, innovators, builders, entrepreneurs and investors who give so generously of their time, expertise and connections to the women in our community. It’s in the little moments that magic happens.
