Every achievement demonstrates our determination and success in building a new and thriving all-island investment and business support ecosystem for women founders and investors.

In 2023, our AwakenHub community of women founders shared their frustration at the systemic barriers to investment they continually faced. We decided to change that by launching Awaken Angels, Ireland’s first and only women-led investment syndicate. Now, on our second anniversary, we are delighted to report we’ve already assisted our portfolio companies in raising £4 million (€4.5 million) of vital investment. We’ve completed eight investments, and as we write, we have three more deals in progress. We’ve also doubled our syndicate membership to 118 angels, of which 90% are women. When AwakenHub and AwakenAngels, say we’ll do something, we do it. Our CPD-accredited Investor Academy also continues to welcome and train new investors, building a vital new pipeline of people seeking to invest in brilliant Irish women and creating a more inclusive financial network.

Our AwakenHub community continues to go from strength to strength, with over 3,500 members now benefiting from our guidance and support. In the last year, 143 women joined our all-island pre-accelerator, SheGenerate, while our first SheScales cohort supported founders who were ready to grow. With the support of our Big Sisters, Global Ambassadors, and valued ‘Mallies’, our third US Trade Mission to Boston and New York, as well as our first West Coast mission to San Francisco, has also expanded vital international opportunities for Irish women-led innovation.

We mean business.

Our work and the vital opportunities we create continue to expand through partnerships with InterTradeIreland, the Shared Island Fund, the British Business Bank, AIB, and EU programmes such as Women TechEU and Atlantic Futures, ensuring women across Ireland have greater access to funding, networks, and opportunities.

This report is both a celebration and a call to action. It shows what’s possible when women founders, investors, and allies come together with shared purpose and ambition.
