#FollowTheWellbeingEdge

Meet Tracy Byrne, Founder of The Wellbeing Edge.
Tracy Byrne is the heart behind The Wellbeing Edge, a wellness business dedicated to helping women reclaim their physical and mental strength. With a background in law and international banking, Tracy’s career path took a transformative turn after a personal health crisis and a cross-continental move. A simple act of kindness – an invitation to join a gym – sparked a journey that led her to retrain and build a business focused on empowering women to move more, laugh more, and live more.

Based in Rathmichael, Dublin, Tracy works with individuals and corporate clients to promote strength for life through tailored wellness programmes. Her mission is rooted in trust, encouragement, and the belief that wellbeing is the foundation for a full and joyful life.

As an AwakenClub member and part of our new Wellness Hub, Tracy is passionate about connection, growth, and supporting other women founders to thrive.

Describe yourself in six words or less:
Female founder passionate about inspiring wellbeing

Tell us about your business and what inspired you to start it:

The Wellbeing Edge was born from a desire to repay an act of kindness shown to me during a low point in my life. When I moved 3,000 miles from home with three small children to support my husband’s career, someone encouraged me to join a local gym. That simple invitation was transformative. Regaining my physical strength brought me back to myself – it gave me joy, resilience and belief. On returning to Ireland, I retrained and created The Wellbeing Edge with the aim of inspiring, encouraging, and empowering women to prioritise their own physical and mental wellbeing.

A little bit more about you:

I was born in Cork, but we moved to Dublin when I was young – though I’m still a proud Munster supporter! Sport has always played a major role in my life: from competing myself, to supporting my children, and now in promoting strength for life through my work.

I studied Law in university but pursued a career in banking, joining Bank of America in Dublin before moving to London with the Financial Engineering & Risk Management group. I later trained in San Francisco as a Relationship Manager, ultimately working with FDI companies back in Dublin during an exciting period of growth.

After the birth of my first child, I became seriously ill and had to step away from my career. That break turned into a longer hiatus as we relocated to the US – an experience that eventually prompted my complete career pivot. Now back in Rathmichael, I spend my free time walking or running in the hills, swimming at Killiney Beach, and enjoying music and reading.

Your female founder journey:

Initially, I imagined The Wellbeing Edge would be a part-time business to fit around family life – a notion many female founders can probably relate to! That illusion was quickly shattered, and I discovered just how all-consuming and purpose-driven this work can be.

When COVID hit, my entirely in-person business model was challenged overnight. Thanks to the encouragement of my clients, I adapted and moved online. That experience gave me huge confidence in my ability to evolve. I’ve been lucky to grow organically and benefit from exceptional coaches and mentors. The greatest challenge? The pressure I often put on myself. But the heart of it all is knowing I can help women live fuller, more energised lives – and that’s what keeps me striving every day.

Why you joined AwakenHub:

I joined AwakenHub to expand my network of fellow female founders and to continue learning how to grow – not just as a business owner, but as a person. I’m delighted to be part of the new Wellness Hub, which I believe will be a fantastic support and resource.

What’s your ‘ask’ for the community?

I’m excited to be joining the new Wellness Hub and would love to connect with others who are equally passionate about wellbeing, particularly those in the corporate space looking to enhance employee health and resilience.

My non-negotiables, values, and inspirations:

My values are simple:

  • Be worthy of my clients’ trust

  • Believe in them – always

  • Lead with empathy

  • Encourage more laughter and more life

I’m inspired by people who live in alignment with their values and who treat others with deep respect and kindness.

Where I see myself:

In 12 months:
With a steady pipeline of new corporate clients, expanding the reach and impact of The Wellbeing Edge.

In 5 years:
Still active in my work, but also travelling more and giving back through pro bono mentorship.

My top three tips for other women founders:

  1. Move your body every day

  2. Immerse yourself in nature

  3. Start a gratitude journal

Six words to live by:

Move more, Laugh more, Live more
