InterTradeIreland & AwakenHub Join Forces

AwakenHub is delighted to announce InterTradeIreland has come on board as a sponsor for 2022.

Both AwakenHub and InterTradeIreland operate across the island of Ireland and are committed to creating greater opportunities for businesses to thrive.

One of the positive outcomes of Covid is a new way of working. People now realise they can build, scale and internationalise companies from every corner of the island. Given the right environment, talent comes home or finds a new home, often linked to quality of life in beautiful locations across the country.

The collective opportunity and challenge, in equal measure, is to create the best possible eco-system to enable entrepreneurs to thrive in cities, towns, islands and hinterlands of Ireland, North and South, and to ensure that everyone has the same chance of success regardless of gender.

InterTradeIreland has been helping small businesses in Ireland and Northern Ireland explore new cross-border markets, develop new products, processes and services and become investor ready for over two decades. AwakenHub’s mission is to level up opportunity, access and connectivity for women founders throughout the Island of Ireland by removing barriers to investment, scale and success.

Working together will ultimately increase the number of women founded businesses and offer a community of support where existing women founders can build and leverage connectivity across Ireland and abroad.

InterTradeIreland recognises the important role AwakenHub plays in the founder eco-system as the only all Island community for women founders, as they work to change the well-documented statistics surrounding existing challenges.

Shane O’Hanlon, Funding for Growth Manager at InterTradeIreland commented,  ‘We have been watching the incredible work AwakenHub has been doing since its inception in July 2020 and congratulate them on their success, in particular their all-island SheGenerate accelerator-lite programme, which provides support to early-stage female founders. AwakenHub is all about empowering entrepreneurial women to realise their potential, which dovetails in every respect with InterTradeIreland’s core mission to support innovative and progressive businesses across the island.’

AwakenHub co-founder, Sinead Crowley said, ‘We are extremely pleased to have the support of InterTradeIreland this year as we continue to build our community to over 1600 women from across the island and beyond. The time has come for women-led businesses to be taken as seriously as those founded by men, for homophily and general bias to be tackled and for women to know that success is possible with a leveraged community to support them, plenty of grit and the right knowledge base.’

InterTradeIreland will be sponsoring one of AwakenHub’s upcoming community events. More details of that will follow shortly. They are also sponsoring some spaces in AwakenHub’s private online community AwakenClub consisting of women founders, company builders, investors and ‘big sisters’ offering informal advice and guidance and additional closed events.

In the meantime, if you are not already on InterTradeIreland’s mailing list then be sure to check out their website for a host of interesting events...

One event not to be missed is the upcoming InterTradeIreland Venture Capital Conference taking place across two half days on the 14th and 15th of March 2022. The conference will showcase world-class companies which have started and are scaling from the island of Ireland. A great opportunity to network with the island’s leading investors where you will get insight into the VC industry and scaling journeys of global founders – sourcing teams, growing sales and raising capital.
